Dating back to 1962, it’s an additional tradition for the Chicago River to be dyed green ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, and this year’s event just took place this past Saturday (March 15). But this year’s celebration was unlike any other, as it featured an appearance from The Toxic Avenger!
Ahead of Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting’s release of director Macon Blair’s new The Toxic Avenger reboot in theaters – fully and completely UNRATED! – on August 29, the Toxie street team took to the Chicago River yesterday in the wake of it being dyed a toxic green, and we’ve got video footage from the lovable Troma icon’s viral appearance at the popular event.

The new movie stars Peter Dinklage as the Toxic Avenger.
