A$AP Rocky opened his headline set at Rolling Loud California by performing new songs aboard a helicopter – watch footage below.

The rapper topped the bill at the Inglewood festival on Saturday (March 15) and showed up on a helicopter with the words ‘Don’t Be Dumb’ emblazoned across it, in reference to his upcoming studio album of the same name.

He opened with the unreleased song ‘All Black (Stole Ya Flow)’ and a second track that sampled Coolio’s ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’, before being lowered to the stage during a rendition of ‘A$AP Forever’.

Rocky’s set also included an appearance from Skepta on ‘Praise The Lord (Da Shine)’, and performances of 2024 single ‘Tailor Swif’ and new songs ‘Your Honor’ and ‘Stop Snitching’.

‘Don’t Be Dumb’ had been scheduled for an August 2024 release, but likely due to his high-profile court battle, that date has been pushed back multiple times. It is expected later in 2025.

Last month, he said: “I think quite frankly, people are tired of hearing about updates about the album. They’re just ready to get this shit, you know what I’m saying? I don’t think anybody wants to hear where I’m at with it, how far is it along and all that.”

“They just want to hear some shit just to see where I’m at, and I promise I got some new shit in store. I’m challenging myself. It’s like anything, I approach it with a different tactic, degree, or finesse.”

“The album’s done,” he added. “I just want to drop it. I don’t want to keep saying what I’m going to do and I want to give people what I’ve been promising them for a long-ass fucking time.”

In February, Rocky was found not guilty in his trial over his involvement in a shooting incident in 2021. After nearly a month-long trial, an LA jury found him innocent on all counts after he had been charged for allegedly firing a gun at his former friend A$AP Relli in the Hollywood area. Rocky faced 24 years in prison after the rapper turned down a plea deal for 180 days in jail.

Over the course of the trial, his partner Rihanna showed up in court to support him and towards the end of the court case brought their kids along, prompting his lawyer to refute later claims the couple had done so as a “ploy” to win over the jury’s sympathy.
