Swiz reuniting for Positive Force 40th anniversary show, announce box set & book
The Positive Force 40th anniversary shows also include Girls Against Boys, Soulside, The Messthetics, War On Women, and more.

DC hardcore/post-hardcore vets Swiz, the band formed in 1987 by original Dag Nasty vocalist Shawn Brown, are have announced a new comprehensive retrospective box set, a new band biography, and their first show in 11 years.
2025.BOX is a joint production from Sammich Records, Hellfire Records, and Dischord Records, featuring remastered versions of their original releases made from the original analog tapes. Full details are still to come.
The biography, SWIZ, will be released by Akashic on October 7 and is “256-page book penned by all of the band members (Alex, Shawn, Dave, Nathan, Ramsey, and label-owner/friend Amanda) that combines historical interviews and personal journals, with present-day conversations, anecdotes, recollections, and reflections yielding new poetry and prose. The writing is complemented by over one hundred unpublished images.” Find more info here and check out the book artwork below.
As for the show, it’s part of Positive Force’s multi-day 40th Anniversary Gathering in Washington, D.C. on June 20 at St. Stephen’s Church with Girls Against Boys, War On Women, whitepicketfence, and special guest Kevin Seconds (of 7Seconds) also playing. The show is sold out but Positive Force are hoping to move it to a larger venue.
There are four days of shows at the sold-out Positive Force 40th Anniversary Gathering and will also include performances by Fugazi offshoot The Messthetics, Soroche, Soulside, Holy Rollers, Tsunami, NØ MAN, Miri Tyler (Ekko Astral and Pretty Bitter), Bed Maker, members of Scream, and more. Swiz’s 2014 reunion shows were their first since breaking up in 1990.
