Marvel Television has officially paused three TV series projects it had in development: “Nova,” “Strange Academy” and “Terror, Inc.”.

Deadline reports that all three projects were never officially greenlit, and may still come to fruition at some point, but all appear to have at least been put on the back burner and possibly shelved indefinitely.

The move is seen as a result of the shift a few years ago from Marvel’s original approach to producing series, which was more like creating a film slate with full series greenlights and a large amount of content.

Its newer system is more like traditional TV with a more careful selection of what gets made – not unexpected following Disney cutting back on the amount of Marvel content it produces.

The new system means not only traditional showrunners, but also that more projects are developed than are ultimately made, with each undergoing a more typical greenlight process.

“Nova” was the most solid of the three projects with Sabir Pirzada hired to pen an adaptation in 2022 while Ed Bernero (“Criminal Minds”) took over as writer and showrunner in December.

No talent was officially linked to the other two projects.
