“Conclave” Takes Best Film At The BAFTAs

“Conclave” has taken the top prize at this year’s BAFTA Awards hosted by David Tennant. The papal election drama landed Best Film, Best British Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing awards.

Also winning strong for the night was “The Brutalist” with four honors – taking Best Director for Brady Corbet, Best Actor for Adrien Brody, along with Best Score and Best Cinematography.

Sean Baker’s “Anora” took Best Actress for Mikey Madison and Best Casting. Jesse Eisenberg’s “A Real Pain” landed Best Supporting Actor for Kieran Culkin and Best Original Screenplay, and “Emilia Perez” landed Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana and the ‘Film Not in the English Language’ award.

“Dune: Part Two” landed Best VFX and Best Sound. “Wicked” won Best Production Design and Best Costume Design. “The Substance” won for Best Makeup and Hair.

“Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” won Best Animated Film and the Best Children’s & Family Film awards. “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” won for Best Documentary.

“Alien: Romulus” breakout David Jonsson won the Rising Star Award. Films like “A Complete Unknown,””Nosferatu,” and “Sing Sing” all left with nothing.
