David Arquette Returning For “Scream 7”

David Arquette will join Scott Foley and Matthew Lillard as another formerly dead character who is somehow returning for the upcoming “Scream 7” at Spyglass and Paramount Pictures.

Arquette starred as Deputy Dewey Riley, a key supporting character across the first five films with the character murdered in the fifth by a character played by now Oscar winner Mikey Madison.

The deputy was married to Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) with Cox reprising her role in the new film. Details regarding how Arquette’s character comes back and the story are currently under wraps.

Foley and Lillard played killers from the third and first films respectively – the former shot by Deputy Dewey, the latter being one of the two to kill Dewey’s sister (Rose McGowan).

Other returning cast members include Neve Campbell, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown and all are joined by newcomers to the franchise like Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mark Consuelos and Ethan Embry.

Kevin Williamson directs the new outing which has been filming for the past two months in Atlanta and is reportedly set to wrap production in about a week or so. the movie is already slated for a February 2026 release.
