Joe Dante and ‘Gremlins 2’ Star John Glover to Join ‘Gremlins: The Wild Batch’ Panel at WonderCon | Exclusive

The WonderCon panel for “Gremlins: The Wild Batch,” the upcoming second season of the Max animated series, just got wilder, as we can exclusively report that original “Gremlins” director (and “Wild Batch” executive producer), along with John Glover, who played Daniel Clamp in “Gremlins 2” (and who has a voice role in the new season of the snow), will join the panel, which will be held on Saturday, March 29, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center in Room 207.

Other panelists taking part in the screening and Q&A include “Gremlins: The Wild Batch” showrunner and executive producer Tze Chun, executive producer Brendan Hay and composer Sherri Chung. The panel will include an exclusive screening of a never-before-seen episode, followed by an in-depth discussion of season 2. The second half of season 2 premieres on April 10 exclusively on Max.

Dante, of course, is the filmmaker behind other favorites like “Inner Space,” “Explorers,” “The Howling,” “Piranha” and “The ‘burbs.” His vision for “Gremlins 2: The New Batch,” which turned the original horror comedy into a meta-commentary on studio sequels and the closest thing he’d come to a live-action “Looney Tunes” movie (and Dante actually made a live-action “Looney Tunes” movie – 2003’s “Looney Tunes: Back in Action”).

Glover, of course, played a very familiar figure in “Gremlins 2” – a business owner and media mogul who has limited intelligence and puts his name on all sorts of novelty crap, including his bright, shiny New York City skyrise that becomes infected with gremlins. It’s unclear who Glover voices in “The Wild Batch” but rumors suggest it could be a Clamp relative.
