“Gears of War: Reloaded” Set For PS5, PC & Xbox

To celebrate its upcoming 20th anniversary next year, the original “Gears of War” is getting a full-on remaster and is coming to not just Xbox Series X|S but also Steam on PC and, for the first time, PlayStation 5.

Developed by The Coalition in partnership with Sumo Interactive and Disbelief, “Gears of War: Reloaded” sees the original game re-engineered to play at 4K resolution in Dolby Vision HDR, and at 60fps in campaign and 120fps in multiplayer (and supports VRR). There’s also 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos and 3D Spatial Audio soundtracks.

This version boasts 4K assets and remastered textures, enhanced post-processing visual effects, improved shadows and reflections, super resolution with improved anti-aliasing, and zero loading screens during the campaign.

The campaign supports two-player co-op, and versus multiplayer allows up to eight players. While no Microsoft account required, having one unlocks full cross-platform functionality including cross-play and cross-progression.

Xbox fans who already own the digital version of “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” receive a free upgrade to “Gears of War: Reloaded” while the title will be available as part of the Game Pass library at launch. The game on all platforms contains all the content from the game’s Ultimate Edition.
