Malcolm in the Middle
Frankie Muniz has posted a behind-the-scenes photo of filming on the “Malcolm in the Middle” four-episode revival, the actor pictured reuniting with his on-screen parents Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek. All three actors reprise their roles of Malcolm, Hal and Lois in the modern update on the beloved sitcom.
In the revival, Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party. Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield are also reprising their respective roles of Francis and Reese in the new series. [Source: X]
Crystal Lake
Brad Caleb Kane, who serves as series showrunner on the upcoming A24-produced “Friday the 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake,” says production offices are live for the project with pre-production underway. Prodigies
Will Sharpe (“The White Lotus,” “A Real Pain”) and Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”) will co-star in the new romantic comedy series “Prodigies” for the Apple TV+ service. Sharpe will also direct the series which will focus on two ex-child prodigies who’ve been together since they were kids.
Now in their 30s, they navigate various relationships in a series challenging the fallacy at the heart of romantic storytelling – that getting together is just the beginning of any relationship. [Source: Apple TV+]
CBS
CBS has officially canceled the sitcom “Poppa’s House” and the reality competition series “The Summit” after one season each. The network has also scrapped plans for spin-offs of “The Equalizer” and “The Neighborhood”.
They have ordered two new shows – the Harriett Dyer-led workplace drama “DMV” and the Matthew Gray Gubler and Rosa Salazar-led police procedural drama “Einstein”. [Source: Variety]
Rick and Morty
Adult Swim has released the trailer for the eighth season of its popular “Rick and Morty” animated series. The new will have ten episodes with Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden returning as the voices of Rick and Morty for the new run.
