STUDIO SHOO Gives Nod to Volcanic Rock With the TUFF Pencil Cabinet
A sweet place to store writing utensils, STUDIO SHOO introduces the TUFF Pencil Cabinet, inspired by iconic Armenian tuff stone.

The TUFF Pencil Cabinet from Studio Shoo offers a sweet little spot to store your items, enclosed in a satin powder-coated finish making organization and storage a breeze. With two fun colors to choose from, a bright pink and happy yellow, this is a great place to hold all types of drawing and writing utensils. Sitting on tall, elegant legs with snappy casters to roll around a studio or workspace with ease, the TUFF Pencil Cabinet creates a cleanliness in both process and workspace.
The single-tier yellow cabinet features a flip top, revealing hidden storage underneath, while the pink cabinet has all the features of the yellow but with an additional drawer, adding double the storage capacity. A brown facade on the front reminds one of an elevated tack board, small flecks of lighter material adding a familiar school-time touch. The inset panels pay a stylish tribute to Armenia’s noted tuff stone. As this cabinet is specifically designed for pencils, the top of the pink cabinet flips up to reveal an occasional table to rest your supplies while you’re creating.
“The TUFF Pencil Cabinet draws inspiration from Yerevan’s signature pink-hued volcanic rock. I wanted to capture the warmth, texture, and creative energy of the ‘Pink City’ in its design. Just as locals use tuff as a canvas for spontaneous chalk drawings, this piece reflects the intersection of material heritage and artistic expression,” shares Shushana Khachatrian, interior designer and founder of STUDIO SHOO.
Shushana Khachatrian founded STUDIO SHOO in 2017, meticulous detail and an approachable aesthetic apparent across their architecture, interiors, and design. The designer speaks on her work: “I genuinely believe that contemporary design should be unlimited. While creating a concept, I pay an enormous attention to details and prioritize how it’s going to affect people and their initial impressions. STUDIO SHOO’s distinctive signature is vivid minimalism that can be clearly recognized in our work”.
