Areas unveils second Le Pain Quotidien at Paris Montparnasse Station
Located at platform level, Le Pain Quotidien features a varied menu and a 90sq m terrace with views of the Montparnasse Tower.

FRANCE. Areas France has extended its partnership with international bakery-restaurant chain Le Pain Quotidien with a new venue at Paris Montparnasse Station.
This is the brand’s second rail location with the global travel restaurateur, which is under contract for the space with the station’s retail concessions manager Altarea Commerce.
It follows the first Le Pain Quotidien opening at Paris de l’Est Station, one of the six other large mainline railway station termini in the French capital.
Le Pain Quotidien is located at platform level in the station with stunning views of the Montparnasse Tower. It includes a 90sq m terrace with a leafy canopy and 50 seats.
The indoor dining area, with 30 seats, is designed in Le Pain Quotidien’s house style including the use of communal wooden tables, banquet and lounge chairs, which are designed to “create a cosy, home-like atmosphere”.
Alongside its signature organic bread and pastries, Le Pain Quotidien serves a varied menu, with many dine-in and takeaway options featuring natural and locally sourced ingredients.
A full breakfast menu features cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and organic eggs, served with a choice of smoked bacon, avocado or salmon.
Savoury options include a variety of topped tartines, hearty toasts, fresh salads and homemade dishes.
A selection of grab-and-go options such as spinach rolls, quiche Lorraine, croque-monsieur and Thai coleslaw wraps are also available.
There is the option to order via QR code.
Areas France CEO Yves Lacheret said: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with Le Pain Quotidien, a brand that embodies quality, simplicity, conviviality and authenticity. This home-like concept enhances the station dining experience by offering a full-service restaurant at Paris Montparnasse.
“Now a global reference, Le Pain Quotidien is making its first steps into travel hospitality in France, and we are proud to support this second opening.”
Le Pain Quotidien operates more than 260 locations across 20 countries.
Paris Montparnasse is France’s fourth-busiest station, welcoming over 80 million travellers and visitors each year.
