‘When the Light Dies’ – Kid Cudi Directing a Horror-Romance Movie

After starring in Ti West’s slasher movie X back in 2022, musician Scott ‘Kid Cudi’ Mescudi took to Twitter over the weekend to announce that he’s soon returning to the horror genre.

But this time, Kid Cudi will be finding himself in the director’s chair. Cudi announced on Twitter that he’s directing a horror/romance feature titled When the Light Dies.

The musician tweets, “A lil sidebar for y’all: I’m directing and starring in my first feature next year that I came up with the story for called When The Light Dies, a horror/romance film.”

“I’ve been wanting to direct movies ever since I was a kid, and I’m finally stepping into this new chapter,” the tweet continues. “I’m goin to make a page on IG that’s dedicated to bringing you in on the journey. I’ve been doing test shoots, trying diff lighting techniques and trying diff lenses, and I wanna give you guys access to my mind. Who’s joining the journey?”

Also coming soon from Kid Cudi is the music video for his song Neverland, which looks to be an 11-minute horror experience directed by Ti West and produced by Jordan Peele!

The video follows a 200 year old vampire who takes his newly initiated love on her first feed, and it’s set to be premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC this coming June.

Kid Cudi played the ill-fated Jackson Hole in Ti West’s trilogy-starter X (2022), a Marine Corps veteran who ends up one of the many victims of elderly murderers Pearl and Howard.
