Trailer for AMC's NAUTILUS Series, a 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA Origin Story

AMC has released the first trailer for its upcoming series Nautilus, which is inspired by  Jules Verne’s iconic novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.The 10-episode series tells the origin of Captain Nemo: an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family, a prisoner of the East India Mercantile Company and a man bent on revenge against the forces that have taken everything from him.The series looks great and stars Shazad Latif, Georgia Flood, Thierry Fremont, and Céline Menville, with guest appearances from Richard E Grant, Anna Torv, and Noah Taylor.The project was developed by Moonriver TV and Seven Stories, the British adventure drama is created and written by James Dormer (Strike Back) and produced by Cameron Welsh (Ash vs Evil Dead, Constantine)Michael Matthews (Love and Monsters) directed the first four episodes, with Ben C. Lucas(The Wilds) and Isabelle Sieb (The Devil’s Hour) helming the remaining six.Moonriver CEO Xavier Marchand and Seven Stories CEO Anand Tucker shared in a statement: “We are so thrilled to present the epic adventures of Captain Nemo and his legendary submarine The Nautilus alongside the other incredible AMC universes.“The series will take viewers on a breathtaking journey with Nemo and his crew, battling terrifying creatures and the dark forces of the British Empire.”Nautilus started as a Disney+ series but it was shelved after production wrapped in a cost-cutting effort until AMC came to the rescue. It debuted on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland in October.Nautilus premieres June 29 on AMC.
