Anthony Mackie Teases AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Is "Going to Give the Audience That Old Marvel Feeling"

Captain America: Brave New World actor Anthony Mackie has been announced as one of the many Marvel actors to reprise their familiar characters in the upcoming Russo Bros.’ event film, Avengers: Doomsday, and despite being over a year out, he is hyping the film up for fans already. Mackie said in an interview with IGN, “We’re supposed to go out this week and we’ll be out there doing it. Everybody’s excited. I feel with the script and having the Russo brothers back, it’s going to be great.” The actor added, “I’m really excited for what this project is going to be. It’s going to give the audience that old Marvel feeling that they always had.” I think that with this film’s combination of the Russo Brothers, the great cast, and the introduction of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, there really is a great chance at this movie getting audiences more psyched for Marvel than they have been in a while. Actors confirmed for the next Avengers film include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), and Florence Pugh (Yelena).Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, will also see the X-Men join the team for the first time. Actors who will reprise their role include Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier / Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast).
