Thunder Road, the production company behind the “John Wick” franchise, is looking to reunite with actor and director Dev Patel on his ambitious new film “The Peasant” after the two collaborated on his energetic Indian-set action thriller “Monkey Man.” The Hollywood Reporter shared the announcement that the new revenge story at Thunder Road and Fifth Season is set in the 1300s, taking inspiration from films like the aforementioned “John Wick,” Mel Gibson‘s Oscar-winning Scottish independence epic “Braveheart,” and elements of the King Arthur lore (Patel previously starring in the Arthurian flick “The Green Knight” for director David Lowery) being a mash-up of sorts combining medieval knights with feudal India.
