Spider-Man 4 Has A Title – Spider-Man: Brand New Day

After years of simply calling it Spider-Man 4, Marvel/Sony’s next Spidey outing has an official title, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As per Deadline, the film’s director Destin Daniel Cretton and star Tom Holland made an appearance at CinemaCon yesterday. We had seen standees showing simply Spider-Man 4, but Deadline reports that on stage (possibly on video call) Holland revealed the title is Brand New Day.

Here’s a few quotes from the trades coverage of the appearance from Cretton.

‘“Everyday right now, I’m exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of incredible artists of the world. How to swing, how to create an emotional story and a ride we haven’t seen before,” said Cretton.’

‘“They tell me it’s tradition to tell you something about the film, that no one knows. We do have a trailer even though we didn’t share anything,” joked Cretton. He tossed it to Tom Holland on the screen.’

‘“I know we left you with a massive cliff-hanger,” said Holland thanking exhibitors.’

‘Then the Peter Parker actor made it slip: Spider-Man: Brand New Day would be the new title of the forthcoming instalments, coming out July 31, 2026.’

Now, though I’ve never read it, I’m aware there is a Spider-Man comic book called One More Day which isn’t much loved by fans. I’m not sure this title hints at any connection to that story at all though, but some fans feel like it does, so I’m mentioning it.

Do I like the title, Brand New Day? Nope, but I haven’t like a MCU Spider-Man title to date, despite enjoying all the films. The point being, I really don’t care about titles as long as the film is good. That’s all I ever hope for, another good Spider-Man MCU film.

All we have on plot for now is a bunch of rumors. Now I mean more recent rumors because of course we seem to have heard about every version of this script until this point already. We’ve heard recently that Sadie Sink is in the film and rumored to be playing Mary Jane. Yet, we also know Zendaya is back for this fourth film also. The villain is rumored to be Chameleon. We’ve also heard the events take place concurrently with those of Avengers: Doomsday. Though, I can’t speak to their validity yet.
