Macon Blair’s upcoming “Toxic Avenger” remake will be released uncut and unrated on August 29th. Cineverse will be distributing the film and officially announced their plans to bypass the MPA this afternoon.

The film reportedly contains graphic violence, strong language, sexual references, and brief nudity – leading to struggles to secure a distributor, even as reviews for the title out of festivals have been strongly positive. [Source: World of Reel

Untitled Jeremy Saulnier Project
Coming off the success of his recent Netflix feature “Rebel Ridge” which pulled in 31 million views in three days and helped Aaron Pierre secure the “Lanterns” lead role, A24 has acquired the rights to Jeremy Saulnier’s next film “Untitled Halloween Project”.

The currently untitled thriller is dubbed a “gritty, high-stakes chase story reminiscent of ‘The Fugitive'” with the usual visceral intensity of a Saulnier film. A24 beat out several others in a fierce bidding war, including Netflix. [Source: The Insneider]

Motorheads
Amazon MGM Studios has shared the official trailer for coming-of-age action drama series “Motorheads” starring Ryan Phillippe, rising star Michael Cimino (“Love, Victor,” “Until Dawn”), and the likes of Nathalie Kelley, Melissa Collazo, Uriah Shelton and Nicolas Cantu. The series debuts on May 20th on Prime Video.

Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is an adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of street racing, while navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
Paramount Pictures has revealed another featurette for “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” this one focusing on the underwater stunts Tom Cruise does in the film whilst his character Ethan Hunt boards the sunken Russian submarine Sevastopol. The film has its world premiere at the upcoming 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 14, followed by its theatrical release on May 23rd.
