In the massive casting announcement for Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday” back in March, one of the names that was confirmed for the cast was “Thunderbolts*” actor Lewis Pullman.
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD FOR “THUNDERBOLTS”
Pullman plays Bob in the film, a character who then becomes Sentry/The Void in the back half of the movie – a being of immense power, potentially with more than anyone else in the MCU thus far (Thor and Captain Marvel would come close).
The film ends with Bob joining The New Avengers team, even as he doesn’t want to risk becoming Sentry again should the Void take over.
In a new interview with Men’s Health (via CBM), Pullman says his fellow New Avengers will keep a very close eye on Bob in ‘Doomsday,’ while at the same time trying to figure out a way to put his power to use:
“The Thunderbolts don’t want to let him out of their sight, because they realize that if he’s caught in the wrong hands, or if he’s not being supported enough by the right people, he might be dangerous.
But they also want to keep him close in case they can figure out a way to use him. He’s a very good asset. It’s a hard situation they’re in.
With all the other characters that are going to be in Avengers: Doomsday, there will be so many opportunities to figure out how each might come into play – and how Bob might come into play with any of them.”
“Avengers: Doomsday” is now filming, even as several members of the cast now have indicated that they haven’t yet seen a full script – only their contributions. The most recent reports suggest Chris Hemsworth has been spotted in full Thor costume shooting scenes, while Alan Cumming seems to have let slip a possible Nightcrawler/Mr. Fantastic fight scene.
Much of the Thunderbolts/New Avengers team are returning for ‘Doomsday’ including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and Hannah John-Kamen.
