“Fantastic Four: First Steps” Reshoots Underway

Marvel Studios is known for doing plenty of additional photography on their films, the studio famously reshooting some scenes or filming their credits stingers mere weeks before the film in question is released.

Well it’s happening again right now with actress Julia Garner spotted filming scenes for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Garner plays Shalla-Bal, a female Silver Surfer in the film. In the trailer she’s seen only in her metallic CG incarnation, but photos from the set of the reshoots indicate we’ll see her more human form in at least one scene in the movie.

In the shots, she wears a white and blue-patterned long dress with her blonde hair pushed back. According to The Daily Mail, at one point during the filming, she holds her arms out while looking at the ocean.

There’s been online debate over the gender-swapping of Silver Surfer, though as several have pointed out – she is the version of this alternate universe in which the Fantastic Four are Earth’s only heroes, not necessarily the one we’ll see in the MCU should they be introduced there.

Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bacharach co-star in the film which is targeting a July 25th release.
