THE BOYS Creator Teases Season 5 Will Bring the SUPERNATURAL Trio Back Together on Screen

The end of The Boys is setting up a Supernatural reunion fans have been excited about with Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins officially set to share the screen once again thanks to The Boys.In a recent chat with TV Insider, creator Eric Kripke confirmed that the beloved Supernatural trio will appear together in Season 5 of The Boys, which will also serve as the final season of the hit Prime Video series. He said:“It’s a blast. We already shot it. I will confirm that Jared, Jensen, and Misha are all in the same frame together, and in the same storyline, and interacting with each other.”According to Kripke, the reunion is fully baked into the story and extends beyond just the actors. He explained:“Having the five of us back together on set, filming, was just so fun and like a high school reunion, and you immediately fall into all your old patterns.“It was really heartwarming and nice to like immediately be brought back to these guys that I love and haven’t had them all together, at least in a professional capacity, in years and years. So it was really, really meaningful.”Ackles is already a chaotic force in The Boys universe as Soldier Boy, whose return was teased in the post-credits scene of Season 4. The big mystery now is who Padalecki and Collins are playing, and whether they’ll be friend or foe. Kripke has been clear that Season 5 will wrap up the core story he’s been building since the series launched in 2019. Back in June 2024, he confirmed the final season was greenlit and designed to be the endpoint all along. “Lots of death” and “apocalyptic” stakes have been teased, and Kripke even admitted that the scripts were being updated into early 2025 to reflect real-world events, which is something the show has never shied away from skewering. While the main series will conclude, The Boys universe isn’t slowing down. Gen V Season 2 is on track for a 2025 release, picking up immediately after the events of The Boys Season 4. That means more chaos, more blood, and a follow-up on Homelander’s shocking rise to authoritarian rule. The new season will also address the tragic loss of actor Chance Perdomo, with his character’s death written into the story. On top of that, there’s The Boys: Mexico, a Spanish-language spinoff with Blue Beetle’s Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer as showrunner and Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal producing, and possibly appearing. Meanwhile, Vought Rising, a Cold War-era prequel, will spotlight a young Soldier Boy (again played by Ackles) and Stormfront in her original identity as Clara Vought. There’s no official release date for The Boys Season 5 just yet, but 2026 is looking likely.
