Indie developers Tarba Paul Cornel and Abdul Rafy have revealed the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming asymmetrical co-op horror title Deadly Quiet, focusing on you questioning your teammates and their loyalty. Slated to launch on May 30 on Steam, Deadly Quiet offers up a unique experience with a bodycam perspective, immersing players in a tense, first-person survival scenario where every decision can lead to life or death.
Set in the Hoia Baciu forest in Romania, you and your friends are off on a weekend camping trip. You take an unfortunate detour along a ravine that leads to your car plunging into the depths below. Miraculously, everyone survives, but your car is totalled, and with no cell signal and night approaching, you’re stranded. Your only hope is to traverse the woods and reach the nearby town of Cluj.
However, the creature known as the Wendigo is roaming the woods, and has taken a vested interest in you and your friends. As a result, you’ve got to rely on your friends for survival, with cooperation and communication being the keys. There’s a twist to all of this, as you must stay quiet. The slightest noise could mean certain death, adding an extra layer of suspense. Communication, while essential, becomes a dangerous double-edged sword.
To add to the fun in Deadly Quiet, even if you die, you’re not out of the game. You can continue to mess with your friends and the enemies in a chaotic twist on the genre. Heck, if you so choose, you can side with the Wendigo, help your friends, or take matters into your own hands. The choices are yours.
