Megan Thee Stallion has shared that she would love to collaborate with Doechii for her next album.
The ‘Savage’ rapper brought up the topic of a potential collaboration during a recent TikTok live, where she gave an update on her upcoming album ‘Megan: Act III’.
“Act III is being made,” she told fans on the live. “I’m really just trying to figure out who do I want to do features with at this point in life. I only want to do features with people that … one, I haven’t done a feature with yet, and two, that I listen to on my own time — people that I actually, you know, fuck with.”
Viewers then began suggesting she join forces with Doechii, to which she responded: “I see Doechii, bitch, I love Doechii.”
“I do want to do a song with Doechii,” she added. “That’s on my list. That’s on my album wish list.”
Megan went on to confirm that she has “no song right now” that would make sense for Doechii to appear on, adding: “I feel like Doechii would be the type of person that you would have to be in the studio to make a song with.
“I would like to hear a beat that she would like to rap over, and also I’m like challenging myself to rap over beats that I wouldn’t normally rap over without losing myself.”
‘ACT III’ will follow 2024’s ‘Megan: Act II’, which received a glowing five-star review from NME, reading: “On ‘Act II’, Megan confirms why she’s “the baddest bitch out right now” once again.
“Despite all the adversity that has plagued her in recent years, she firmly stands atop the rap world as the princess of rap, gazing down from her pedestal while polishing her tiara – maybe there’s a coronation on the horizon very soon.”
The LP also made it onto NME‘s 50 Best Albums of 2024 list, while the track ‘Hiss’ cinched the Number 10 spot in our 50 Best Songs of 2024 roundup.
Meanwhile, Doechii won the Best Rap Album prize at the Grammys earlier this year, becoming only the third female winner, after Lauryn Hill and Cardi B. To celebrate the win, she released ‘Nosebleeds’, in which she raps about showing up her naysayers.
Doechii’s ‘Nissan Altima’ was listed as one of NME‘s 50 Best Songs of 2024. In a four-star review of ‘Aligator Bites Never Heal‘, NME shared: “Doechii gets into the nitty gritty on this release, but – by the end – she finds solace and strength, making the mixtape feel more like a sonic diary of her emotional journey.”
