“Last of Us” Episode 6 Set To Get Emotional

The sixth episode of the second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us” arrives next Sunday, the one touted as the big emotional episode of the season, much like the ‘Bill & Frank’ third episode was for the first season.

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR SEASON 2 OF “THE LAST OF US”

HBO has now unveiled the official trailer for that episode which appears to be entirely set in flashback. The episode which will cover the period between Joel and Ellie’s arrival in Jackson and up to the day the horde attacked Jackson.

The episode looks to cover quite a bit of ground and clear up some questions generated by earlier episodes such as the death of Eugene, how the falling out between Joel and Ellie happened, and possibly what took place after the dance which led to her being willing to go out on patrol with Joel at the start of the second episode.

Most of the preview though hints at the happier times shared between the two as they adjust to their new life, he teaches her guitar, she gets her arm tattoo and more.

The episode follows on from the just-released fifth episode which finally introduced spores from the game along with tackling some of the ‘Ellie: Day Two’ storyline and the first early hints at what lies at the bottom of a certain basement – something that will come much more into play in the third season.

The seventh and final episode of the second season airs on May 25th. Though the third season renewal order has taken place, there’s still no word as to when production on it will begin and whether it will be the final season or if a fourth will be required.
