SSP captures six-year F&B contract extension at Lanzarote Airport

SPAIN. Travel restaurateur SSP will extend its presence at César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport after agreeing a new six-year food & beverage contract.

The contract covers six restaurants, bars and cafés. Three new venues will be introduced, while three more will be refurbished.

Among the new venues is bar and jamonería Enrique Tomás, which will serve premium Iberian ham, complemented by a wide range of Iberian F&B products.

Well-known UK coffee brand AMT Coffee, which serves only 100% Fairtrade coffee, will open its first-ever Spanish branch.

A bright space is planned by SSP for bar and jamonería Enrique Tomás, a new addition to the Lanzarote Airport F&B line-up

An authentic taste of the Canary Islands will be brought by the Tropical Sin Filtros Bar, which will serve freshly brewed Tropical beer, produced on the island since 1924.

An existing Burger King restaurant will undergo a complete renovation, including the addition of an expanded kitchen and additional self-service kiosks.

SSP’s own brand Upper Crust, tailored to the tastes of Spanish passengers, will also be enhanced, as well as the existing Camden food co. outlet.

SSP Spain Managing Director Blanca Ripoll said, “Our success at retaining our business at Lanzarote is a testament to the high standard of our operations at this important leisure destination and the outstanding relationship we have built with the airport team.

“Our brand strategy reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences, with world-class brands tailored specifically to the needs of travellers at the Iberian travel hub.

“The brand mix promises to offer both a sense of place, while appealing to the international tastes of those flying to the Canary Islands.”

Lanzarote Airport welcomed 8.7 million passengers in 2024, a +6% increase compared to 2023. Some 60% of its flights connect to European destinations, with Germany and the UK dominating the airport’s international traffic. ‍
