Hear Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump embrace his ska roots on Catbite’s new song “Tired of Talk”

After ska became cool again, Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump decided to shed more of a public light on his ska roots by going on Aaron Carnes & Adam Davis’ In Defense of Ska podcast in 2021, and that turned into Stump’s ska story getting immortalized in the second edition of Carnes’ In Defense of Ska book. But it didn’t stop there. One of the best new-school ska bands around, Catbite, recruited Stump to sing and play trumpet on “Tired of Talk” from their upcoming EP Doom Garden, and that song is out now.

It’s a moody, real-deal, 2-Tone-style ska song, and Patrick Stump’s impossible-to-mistake voice sounds great next to Catbite’s own powerhouse vocalist, Brit Luna. Adding to the 2-Tone-ness of it all, it comes with an animated black-and-white music video (featuring IRL footage of Patrick). Check it out below.

Doom Garden drops May 9 via Bad Time Records (pre-order). It was produced, engineered, and mixed by illuminati hotties’ Sarah Tuzdin, and it also features guest vocals from Sweet Pill’s Zayna Youssef.
