Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse officially has a new release date! June 4, 2027. Sony Pictures also shared a first look at the film with five images that you can check out below!This final chapter in the Spider-Verse animated trilogy has been a ghost on the release calendar since being delayed in mid-2023. Originally slated for March 29, 2024, the movie was bumped due to the Hollywood strikes, specifically, voiceover work being held up. But that wasn’t the only reason. These films are technical animation marvels, and it takes time to make the right.If you remember, when Across the Spider-Verse premiered in June 2023, it was revealed that the final cut was locked just days before.The new release date was unveiled at CinemaCon 2025 with a teaser trailer that felt more like an art piece than a trailer. It opened with a swirl of abstract shapes and color while flashing back to moments from the first two films. Then, just for a few second, we got new footage: Miles Morales battling the Prowler and the Spot, plus a mysterious shot of him entering a pitch-black void through a glowing yellow portal.On stage, producer Phil Lord and directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson promised that Beyond the Spider-Verse will raise the bar again:Beyond will be bigger and bolder than the first two films. It’ll feature new styles and innovations and pick up the next second from the end of the previous film.”Both Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Across the Spider-Verse (2023) were critical and box office hits, pulling in a combined $1.08 billion and serious awards attention, including an Oscar win and another nomination.It’s going to be a long road, but if there's any franchise worth the wait, it’s this one. 2027 can’t come fast enough.
