Finn Jones Still Wants Another Shot at IRON FIST in the MCU

At La Conve Monterrey in Mexico, actor Finn Jones made one thing very clear to fans, he’s still not done with Danny Rand. Years after Iron Fist ended its two-season run on Netflix, Jones continues to advocate for another shot at playing the character in the MCU, and this time, he wants to do it right.“I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it,” Jones told the crowd during a panel. “My response to that is ‘give me a f*cking chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready, and I wanna prove people wrong.’”Well, he kinda already had his chance! But, this isn’t the first time Jones has voiced this passion. Last year, he floated the idea of teaming up with Mike Colter again for a Heroes for Hire series. “I would love to see the chemistry between me and Mike again. It was always fantastic. I think those are really interesting characters to put together. If they would bring me and Mike back to do a Heroes For Hire TV series, I think it would be the right way.”That chemistry between Iron Fist and Luke Cage was a fun aspect of The Defenders lineup, but the show struggled to land a consistent tone, the martial arts choreography felt rushed, and Danny Rand’s frequent emotional outbursts clashed with the idea of him being a disciplined warrior trained in mystical K’un-Lun.But over time, blame for the show’s shortcomings has shifted away from Jones and toward its creative leadership, particularly showrunner Scott Buck, whose previous effort (Inhumans) didn’t do him any favors either. With that in mind, some fans have begun to change their tune. There is actually some support for Jones online, with many pointing out that a stronger script and better direction could let him shine.I always thought that Jones was miscast, and if they bring the character back, I wouldn’t mind seeing another actor in the role. The stunt coordinator on Iron Fist said previously talked about how Jones didn't even want to train for his fight scenes. He said: "Everyone's fighting and the actor doesn't want to train and...'Guys, throw me a bone. “Give me something to work with here.' That's probably why the best sequences were with Jessica Henwick because she trained four hours a day and she had zero martial arts experience."Regardless of how fans feel, Jones previously said that he wants to “prove all those motherf*ckers wrong.” During an interview, Jones was asked if he'd want to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Iron Fist, and this was his response:"I'd love another chance. I care about Danny Rand deeply, I believe in that character, I think there's a lot of work to be done. There's something about the underdog, y'know? I love the underdog narrative. “I love the ability to prove someone wrong, and I want to prove all those motherf*ckers wrong. I know I have it in me and I know I can give the Danny Rand performance that fans want and that is possible."Since his time in the Netflix corner of the Marvel universe, Jones has appeared in the Apple TV+ series Dickinson with Hailee Steinfeld. Now, with Daredevil: Born Again kicking ass and a possible Defenders reunion, fans are wondering if this could be the moment Jones gets another shot. So, what do you think? Would you want to see Jones back in the role of Iron Fist again?

Finn Jones Still Wants Another Shot at IRON FIST in the MCU

At La Conve Monterrey in Mexico, actor Finn Jones made one thing very clear to fans, he’s still not done with Danny Rand. Years after Iron Fist ended its two-season run on Netflix, Jones continues to advocate for another shot at playing the character in the MCU, and this time, he wants to do it right.

“I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it,” Jones told the crowd during a panel. “My response to that is ‘give me a f*cking chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready, and I wanna prove people wrong.’”

Well, he kinda already had his chance! But, this isn’t the first time Jones has voiced this passion. Last year, he floated the idea of teaming up with Mike Colter again for a Heroes for Hire series.

“I would love to see the chemistry between me and Mike again. It was always fantastic. I think those are really interesting characters to put together. If they would bring me and Mike back to do a Heroes For Hire TV series, I think it would be the right way.”

That chemistry between Iron Fist and Luke Cage was a fun aspect of The Defenders lineup, but the show struggled to land a consistent tone, the martial arts choreography felt rushed, and Danny Rand’s frequent emotional outbursts clashed with the idea of him being a disciplined warrior trained in mystical K’un-Lun.

But over time, blame for the show’s shortcomings has shifted away from Jones and toward its creative leadership, particularly showrunner Scott Buck, whose previous effort (Inhumans) didn’t do him any favors either.

With that in mind, some fans have begun to change their tune. There is actually some support for Jones online, with many pointing out that a stronger script and better direction could let him shine.

I always thought that Jones was miscast, and if they bring the character back, I wouldn’t mind seeing another actor in the role.

The stunt coordinator on Iron Fist said previously talked about how Jones didn't even want to train for his fight scenes. He said: "Everyone's fighting and the actor doesn't want to train and...'Guys, throw me a bone.

“Give me something to work with here.' That's probably why the best sequences were with Jessica Henwick because she trained four hours a day and she had zero martial arts experience."

Regardless of how fans feel, Jones previously said that he wants to “prove all those motherf*ckers wrong.” During an interview, Jones was asked if he'd want to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Iron Fist, and this was his response:

"I'd love another chance. I care about Danny Rand deeply, I believe in that character, I think there's a lot of work to be done. There's something about the underdog, y'know? I love the underdog narrative.

“I love the ability to prove someone wrong, and I want to prove all those motherf*ckers wrong. I know I have it in me and I know I can give the Danny Rand performance that fans want and that is possible."

Since his time in the Netflix corner of the Marvel universe, Jones has appeared in the Apple TV+ series Dickinson with Hailee Steinfeld.

Now, with Daredevil: Born Again kicking ass and a possible Defenders reunion, fans are wondering if this could be the moment Jones gets another shot.

So, what do you think? Would you want to see Jones back in the role of Iron Fist again?
