NEW ZEALAND. Construction has commenced today (17 March) on a new multi-level hospitality venue at Wellington Airport.

Alongside wide-ranging food & beverage options, the new venue will offer panoramic runway and Lyall Bay views.

The 130-seat, two-storey development will be operated by EVT. It will serve burgers, baked items, cook-to-order meals and includes a bar area and function space.

Wellington Airport noted F&B outlets within the terminal will be extending their operating hours throughout the build period.

The airport also stated that more new F&B venues will be announced later in the year, along with additional retail outlets in other parts of the terminal.

Wellington Airport Chief Executive Matt Clarke said, “This is going to be a spectacular addition to Wellington Airport and a very popular place to eat, drink, relax and enjoy the views.

“Very few airports can match our stunning local environment, and this development makes the most of it.”

Work on the venue – which covers the area roughly from the Blue Lady Café to Ben & Jerry’s in the main terminal area – is expected to be complete by the end of the year.  ‍
