The documentary Leaving Neverland is getting a sequel titled Leaving Neverland 2: Surviving Michael Jackson, and the first trailer has been released. The doc will continue dig into the pedophilia allegations that Michael Jackson faced. The doc follows “Wade Robson and James Safechuck’s fight for justice after they accused the King of Pop of sexual assault.”Robson says, “I want my day in court,” and Safechuck adds, “People must have known.” The hour-long film will “detail the personal toll of going public with their accusations and the backlash from Jackson’s global army of fans.”The doc will also show the extent to which MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures fought to prevent Robson and Safechuck from pursuing the justice they are seeking.HBO has nothing to do with this second installment. After a legal battle with the Jackson estate, the U.S. courts ruled that Leaving Neverland constituted a breach of a non-disparagement clause in a 1992 contract for an HBO concert special on Jackson’s Dangerous tour.Leaving Neverland 2 is produced and directed by Dan Reed, and it will premiere at 9PM on March 18th in the UK. In the U.S. and English-speaking Canada, the film will premiere at 8PM ET on Real Stories on YouTube.
