Bloodborne Fans Celebrate 10th Anniversary as Sony Remains Silent

PS5, PS4 players are coming together to celebrate Bloodborne‘s 10th anniversary amid complete silence from Sony about the IP’s future. Widely regarded as one of the best PlayStation exclusives of all time, Bloodborne is somewhat of a confusing case. As fans beg for signs of life, Sony hasn’t even considered a PS5 update, let alone a sequel or remaster.

The Bloodborne subreddit is full of players celebrating in their own way. There’s also an ongoing community gaming event called Return to Yharnam, urging fans to play together starting today through April 7th.

There have been speculations that Bloodborne didn’t sell enough to warrant a revival. However, a massive ransomware attack on Insomniac Games in December 2023 resulted in hackers leaking sales data of various first-party games including Bloodborne. If that leak is to be believed, Bloodborne had sold well over seven million copies by 2022.

Sony’s treatment of Bloodborne remains perplexing, then, especially considering that the game has quite a fanbase. It certainly beggars belief that games like Days Gone have been remastered but not one of PlayStation’s best exclusives.

The last meaningful Bloodborne update we received was an easter egg in Astro Bot.
