Apple Cancels “Mythic Quest” Series

Apple has officially cancelled its comedy “Mythic Quest” after four seasons. The Rob McElhenney-led series, which was renewed for Seasons 3 and 4 back in 2021, aired its fourth season finale on March 26th.

However in an unexpected bit of news for fans, the series will get an updated finale episode with a new ending. That overhauled final episode will debut next week on the service.

Apple TV+ launched in November 2019 with ‘Mythic’ debuting in February 2020, making it one of the tech giant’s first original shows. The single-cam workplace comedy has been well-received by critics since its launch with a high approval rating.

In regards to the cancellation, executive producers Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and Rob McElhenney say in a statement:

“Endings are hard. But after four incredible seasons, ‘Mythic Quest’ is coming to a close. We’re so proud of the show and the world we got to build—and deeply grateful to every cast and crew member who poured their heart into it. To all our fans, thank you for playing with us.

To our partners at Apple, thank you for believing in the vision from the very beginning. Because endings are hard, with Apple’s blessing we made one final update to our last episode—so we could say goodbye, instead of just game over.”

Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Danny Pudi, Ashly Burch, Imani Hakim, Jessie Ennis, and Naomi Ekperigin co-star in the series which McElhenney, Hornsby, Megan Ganz, Charlie Day, Michael Rotenberg and Nicholas Frenkel executive produce.

The series also spawned the four-episode anthology spinoff series “Side Quest” which debuted on March 26th.
