Yungblud debuted three new songs at his intimate surprise Scala show last night (March 21).

The intimate London show came after the singer—real name Dominic Harrison—recently shared his first new music of 2025 in the form of a single titled ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’, his first song out since 2024’s ‘Breakdown’ and a teaser of what will be his first LP since 2022’s self-titled album.

Earlier this week, he shared news of the concert, telling fans he would be “performing a couple of songs from the new album”. Last night, he kicked off the four-song setlist with ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’ – later taking to X/Twitter to say the reaction to the song “felt like magic”.

Addressing the crowd at the King’s Cross venue, he said: “It’s fucking good to be back,”  before asking: “Are you ready to hear some songs off the new record?” before launching into the Brit-pop inspired ‘Lovesick Lullaby’.

From there, he gave ‘Zombie’ its live debut, and rounded off the set with ‘Ghosts’, before which he urged the crowd to relish in the moment. “London, can I ask a favour of you?” he said. “Can everyone put their phones away? This song is about comprehending your mortality because we are not fucking here for very long… don’t forget to fucking live man.”

Currently, little is known about his upcoming album, although Yungblud has been dropping numerous hints in recent months. Last December, he told NME that it is likely going to be a double album, and he also discussed how proud he is of the record and got fans talking by making a return to social media.

More recently, Harrison spoke to Apple Music and shared more details about what went into making the record. This involves pushing the envelope in terms of what fans can expect and taking inspiration from some of the biggest names in rock.

“I’ve been listening to a lot of, old-old school music, going back to people like Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt and Led Zeppelin and kind of even Elton John,” he said. “Rock is my genre. I feel like I’ve been dabbling in many different things and trying to twist rock, but I feel like at the minute it’s exciting because rock music feels spherical… it needed to sound big, it needed to sound cinematic.”

He also went on to share how pleased he is with the end result and explained how it feels like a “cultural reset” for him.

The comments about taking inspiration from Led Zeppelin echo comments Yungblud made last March, when he spoke to NME and named the OasisThe VervePrimal ScreamMy Chemical RomanceDavid Bowie and Madonna as inspirations.

Harrison noted that the mantra of the record would be: “Come together, look each other in the eye, be human”, as opposed saying “Fuck you, this is the world we’ve got to get to.”

Touching on the idea of a concept album, he went on: “It’s a ’Tommy’, it’s a ‘Quadrophenia’ [The Who]. It’s ‘A Night At The Opera’ [Queen]. It’s a ‘Black Parade’ [My Chemical Romance]. It’s an ‘Urban Hymns’. It’s a thing that’s intended to be listened to from start to finish, and it’s pushed me harder and made me gut myself harder than anything before.

In other Yungblud news, this summer, the Doncaster singer is set to perform at the second instalment of his own festival, Bludfest, which will also see appearances from Chase AtlanticDenzel CurryBlackbear and former NME Cover stars Rachel Chinouriri and Peach PRCVisit here for tickets.
