Stealth and Communication Are Key With Asymmetrical Co-op Horror Game ‘Deadly Quiet’ [Trailer]

Developers Tarba Paul Cornel and Abdul Rafy are changing things up with their upcoming asymmetrical co-op horror title, Deadly Quiet. The upcoming game, which you can wishlist now on Steam, plunks you and up to 3 of your friends in the unsettling atmosphere of the infamous Hoia Baciu forest in Romania, all viewed through the lens of a bodycam.

The setup goes that you and your friends are off on a weekend camping trip in the Hoia Baciu forest. You take an unfortunate detour along a ravine that leads to your car plunging into the depths below. Miraculously, everyone survives, but your car is totaled, and with no cell signal and night approaching, you’re stranded. Your only hope is to traverse the woods and reach the nearby town of Cluj.

And as you might expect, there’s something roaming the woods that has taken a vested interest in you. Therefore, you’ve got to rely on your friends for survival, with cooperation and communication being the keys.

Given the name of the game, the devs have emphasized sound with Deadly Quiet. You can communicate with your friends using the in-game proximity voice chat, but you’ll need to be careful, as your voice might attract unwanted attention. Not only that, but the forest reacts to the sounds you make, where every creak, snap, and distant growl “[creates] an intense, stealth-focused experience”.

Deadly Quiet is currently in development for a Q2 2025 release.
