SSP Germany has officially celebrated the grand opening of three renowned food and beverage brands on the Mezzanine Level of Frankfurt Airport, in the Departure Area B Non-Schengen. Following the successful bid in a tender process by landlord and airport operator Fraport, SSP is expanding its culinary offerings on the Mezzanine Level with its own brand Anton & Anni, as well as the franchise brands Burger King and Starbucks. The grand opening was celebrated with representatives from the airport, neighbouring businesses, suppliers, partners and the local media.

The newly designed Mezzanine Level offers guests a wide range of dining options. The highlight is SSP’s own brand Anton & Anni, which brings travellers a modern take on German-Bavarian cuisine – ranging from traditional white sausage breakfasts to roasted pork knuckles and cheese spaetzle. The international franchise brands Burger King and Starbucks complement the mix. Large windows provide guests with exclusive views of the airport apron and create an inviting atmosphere. The integration of digital ordering systems such as “Order at Table” at Anton & Anni and self-order terminals at Burger King enhance both efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Oliver Haub, Managing Director of SSP DACH, emphasized the significance of the new location in Terminal T1 B Non-Schengen: “The Mezzanine Food Court was designed to offer an ideal mix of local flair and internationally recognized brands that cater to the needs of travellers at Frankfurt Airport. All three outlets are tailored to the specific requirements of the Mezzanine Level and its guests. Our ongoing commitment to environmentally conscious practices is reflected in the high-quality construction standards, with a strong focus on quality, innovation and sustainability across more than 1,000 square meters of space.”

Anke Giesen, Fraport Board Member Retail and Real Estate, added; “The food court in Departure Area B has always been one of our main attractions – our passengers love the unique view and enjoy spending time here. We are very pleased that, together with our experienced partner SSP, we were able to create a wonderful new atmosphere at this central location. Here, a modern interpretation of German coziness meets international flair. The concepts are perfectly aligned with the needs of customers in this international passenger area. The elaborate interior design, crafted with great attention to detail, completes a first-class culinary experience that reflects our high standards.”

Anton & Anni, along with Burger King and Starbucks, are open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, offering travellers and visitors a culinary oasis in the bustling environment of Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 1 B Non-Schengen Mezzanine Level.
