Watch Three Short (But Very Creepy) Teaser Videos for ‘Weapons’

New Line Cinema got the horror community talking this week with the first official marketing for their upcoming movie Weapons, the hotly anticipated second feature from Barbarian director Zach Cregger. The film, which has been described as a “horror epic,” is sure to be one of this year’s biggest new releases, and the marketing has kicked off on a creepy note.

In the wake of a handful of mysterious images yesterday, New Line has now released three unsettling clips that dial up the creepy mystery at the center of Zach Cregger’s Weapons.

We don’t have an official synopsis for Weapons but the basic gist is that children in the town of Maybrook disappear in the middle of the night one night at 2:17am, and they never return home again. The teaser clips that have been released today all feature security camera footage from that town on that night at that time, and it’s all as unsettling as you’d probably expect.

That website explains, “A chilling mystery has gripped the small town of Maybrook after 17 children voluntarily left their homes Wednesday morning. Authorities are baffled by the inexplicable disappearance, which has shaken the community to its core. Upon investigation, front door camera footage showed the children leaving their homes at 2:17am Wednesday morning without any signs of force. Since then, little information has surfaced.”

Weapons will be released in theaters on August 8, 2025.
