Planning For Burial announces first album in 8 years, ‘It’s Closeness, It’s Easy’

Planning For Burial (aka Thom Wasluck) is usually up to one thing or another, so it’s almost hard to believe it’s been eight years since he released an album but that is in fact the case. His last LP was 2017’s Below the House, and he’ll follow it with It’s Closeness, It’s Easy on May 30 via The Flenser (pre-order). As always, Thom handled all the recording and artwork himself.

The first single is “A Flowing Field of Green,” a dreamy, sludgy, slowcore-ish song that sounds like classic Planning For Burial. Here’s what Thom says about it:

When I first wrote it I was thinking about how often on tour or when visiting other cities I’d want to move there, away from everything I know. But I’ve been to a lot of places and lived in a few too and realized everywhere will suck if you let it. You gotta be the change you wanna see, you gotta make the things you want to happen become a reality no matter where you’re at.

PfB also announced a lengthy tour, and you can find all dates listed alongside a stream of the new song below.
