Hemsworth Begins “Avengers: Doomsday” Filming

Chris Hemsworth has hit London to film scenes as Thor for “Avengers: Doomsday”.

Stunt performer Bobby Holland Hanton shared a photo of the Australian actor arriving on set, followed by Hemsworth posting an Instagram video that shows him getting some last-minute training in.

Both the photo and video show Hemsworth with his shorter ‘Gladiator Thor’ hair seen in “Thor: Ragnarök” and “Avengers: Infinity War”. Leaked concept art a few months ago suggested that is the look he will sport in the film.

Thor was last seen in “Thor: Love and Thunder” having adopted Gorr the God Butcher’s resurrected daughter, but with the multiverse nature of the new “Avengers” it’s not clear what version of him we’ll see this time.

Filming commenced this week on the project under the helm of the Russo brothers. Robert Downey Jr. leads the cast as Doctor Doom with Hemsworth one of the first officially confirmed names to be returning.

“Avengers: Doomsday” arrives in theaters on May 1st 2026 and will be followed by “Avengers: Secret Wars” on May 7th 2027.
