A couple of trailers have hit in the past day or so, starting with Lionsgate releasing the first trailer for “Wick is Pain” an upcoming Jeffrey Does-directed documentary exploring the history of it and what went into making the billion-dollar “John Wick” franchise. The title will be available digitally on May 9th.
Next, A24 has released the trailer for Eva Victor’s drama “Sorry, Baby” which drew rave reviews out of Sundance and won an award for its script. Victor stars as a college professor who sees her life upended after an advisor violates her trust. Naomi Ackie, Lucas Hedges, and John Carroll Lynch co-star in the film which will release June 27th.
Magnolia Pictures released the official trailer for the post-apocalyptic action thriller “40 Acres” opening July 2nd. Danielle Deadwyler plays a former soldier trying to protect her family and land from vicious cannibals who are hell-bent on taking over her farm. R.T. Thorne directs the project.
Hulu has shared the official trailer for Jillian Bell’s coming-of-age comedy “Summer of 69” starring Sam Morelos and Chloe Fineman, and scheduled to start streaming on May 9th. The story follows a socially awkward teenage girl who hires an exotic dancer as her ‘sexual fairy godmother’ to help win the heart of her long-time crush.
Then, Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer Tom Kingsley’s action comedy “Deep Cover”. Bryce Dallas Howard plays an improv comedy teacher named Kat who is recruited to go undercover by a cop (Sean Bean) and is entrusted with a dangerous mission. She then enlists two of her students (Orlando Bloom, Nick Mohammed) to help her. Paddy Considine and Ian McShane co-star.
Finally, Apple Original Films has released the trailer for Andrew Dominik’s documentary “Bono: Stories Of Surrender”. The exclusive film event that features the tech giant’s Apple Immersive Video and is based on his critically-acclaimed one-man stage show “Stories of Surrender: An Evening of Words, Music and Some Mischief”.
