ITA Airways, formerly Alitalia, exited SkyTeam earlier this year (read more here) when the Lufthansa Group took a stake, but the alliance-wide benefits continued until April 30th.
The airline is expected to join Star Alliance sometime next year, when its integration with Lufthansa Group airlines (Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Brussels + others) is complete.
You can access Delta’s page for partner airlines here.
Delta Medallion members continue to receive all other elite benefits EXCEPT lounge access when flying on ITA Airways.
ITA Airways last week already issued a notice that Volare members could earn elite and awards miles with most SkyTeam + get limited elite benefits with six:
Air France – KLM Flying Blue Select Elite Benefits Continue On ITA Airways Flights
Delta’s notice:
Our Global Airline Partners (GAP) including Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air Europa, China Airlines, China Southern, EL AL Israel Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, ITA*, Kenya Airways, MEA, Saudia Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, TAROM, Vietnam Airlines, WestJet and Xiamen Airlines all offer the same Medallion Benefits. Check the chart below for Medallion Benefits offered before flying.
Hawaiian Airlines is also a Global Airline Partner but currently does not offer any Medallion Benefits.
WestJet currently does not offer Guaranteed Reservation, Priority Immigration, Priority Reservation Waitlist and Priority Standby.
EL AL currently offers Priority Check-In, Extra Baggage Allowance, Priority Boarding, Preferred Seats, Priority Security, and Priority Baggage Handling to Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion Members unless they are flying on a Lite/Basic ticket. Silver Medallion Members can enjoy Extra Baggage Allowance unless they are flying on a Lite/Basic ticket.
*ITA Airways is no longer a member of the SkyTeam Alliance. However, there is no anticipated impact to Medallion Member benefits when flying with ITA at this time. Effective May 1, 2025, lounge benefits with ITA Airways will be discontinued.

*Preferred Seats are currently not available for Silver Medallion Members flying on WestJet and Scandinavian Airlines. Only Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion Members will have access to Preferred Seats when flying on WestJet and Scandinavian Airlines.
†Delta Sky Club access is not permitted to Delta Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion Members when flying in Main Cabin or Delta Comfort+ internationally. However, Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion Status still permits entry to the Club if flying in Delta One or Delta Premium Select or if Members have access through a different method.
Conclusion
So, Delta Medallion members lose probably the most significant elite benefit if they fly on ITA Airways, which is lounge access.
At least you can continue using all other Priority services until Lufthansa’s takeover and Star Alliance integration are complete.
