15 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

SPARKS – “MY DEVOTION”

“Single-minded may be boring, most folks would agree / Though the word’s pretentious, I’d still call it destiny,” Sparks sing in their latest single from upcoming album MAD!

THALIA ZEDEK BAND – “CIRCUS”

The Thalia Zedek Band will release The Boat Outside Your Window on May 23 and here’s the new single. Talia says, “This was actually written during the pandemic but is just as relevant today as we watch our nation as we have known it disappearing.”

SASAMI – “MAPS” (YEAH YEAH YEAHS COVER)

“I feel so lucky to have an art practice that allows me to go deep and process my emotional highs and lows,” SASAMI says of her new Yeah Yeah Yeahs cover, which was recorded for Sounds of Saving’s “Song That Found Me At The Right Time” series. “I’m honored that SoS and 988 asked me to be involved — their work is so important. If you are facing mental health challenges, in emotional distress, or just need someone to talk to, text, call, or chat 988 for judgment-free support. You are never alone.”

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN – “FAITHLESS”

Bruce Springsteen’s upcoming Tracks II: The Lost Albums box set include seven previously unreleased full-length collections of songs. One of those is Faithless, a soundtrack to a movie that was never made. Says Bruce, “You could recognize details and maybe a character or two. But for the most part, I just wrote atmospheric music that I thought would fit.”

AESOP ROCK – “SEND HELP”

Undeground rap lifer Aesop Rock keeps the anticipation for his new album Black Hole Superette going with “Send Help.”

QUINNIE – “BAJA BIRD”

quinnie has followed her 2023 debut album Flounder with a new single, the sparkling, whimsical “baja bird.” “I wrote ‘baja bird’ about the feeling of getting a soda at the gas station and driving around for hours and going to the beach and experiencing beauty as if you are still an invincible teenage girl,” she says.

WHY? & AUPHEUS – “ORACOKE”

WHY? embraces his indie-rap side on this new collaboration with producer Aupheus. He says, “It’s a lonesome song of bittersweet memories with a vague sense of romantic possibility.”

BAMBII – “MIRROR” (ft. JESSY LANZA & YAEJI)

Toronto electronic musician Bambii has announced a new EP, Infinity Club II, due June 20 via Because Music. The first single is an appealing dose of rave-pop with two very cool guests, Jessy Lanza and Yaeji.

SUKI WATERHOUSE – “ON THIS LOVE”

Ahead of Kilby Block Party and her summer tour, Suki Waterhouse shared “On This Love,” which should appeal to fans of Lana Del Rey.

RICO NASTY – “BUTTERFLY KISSES” & CAN’T WIN EM ALL”

Rico Nasty give us two more tastes of her Fueled by ramen debut, Lethal.

JORJA SMITH – “THE WAY I LOVE YOU”

Jorja Smith shows off a side of her music that we don’t hear as often with the thumping pop of “The Way I Love You.” She says, “‘The Way I Love You’ is just so much fun. It takes me back in time – there’s something nostalgic about it but now at the same time.”

TESHIMA SOUND (INTO IT. OVER IT.) – “HIVE COLLAPSE”

Into It. Over It.’s Evan Weiss is about to release a new album with his band Pet Symmetry this week, and he also just launched a new hardcore band that he sings in, Teshima Sound.

ARMLOCK – “STROBE”

Run For Cover-signed Australian indie rock duo Armlock follow last year’s Seashell Angel Lucky Charm with a new single, “Strobe,” and its video was shot on the band’s tour across the US, UK, and Europe last year. The band says, “We blended crossfaded tour footage with jarring overlays of stock visuals: fireworks, rosary beads, binary code, and relentless digitally rendered strobes. The result flirts with the uncanny sheen of AI-generated content that we’re rapidly becoming accustomed to.”

HOME IS WHERE – “MILK & DIESEL”

Home Is Where have shared the second single from their anticipated third album, Hunting Season, and you can read about it here.

CODEFENDANTS (FAT MIKE) – “RIGHT WRONG MAN”

Codefendants is the trio of Fat Mike (of NOFX), Sam King (of Get Dead), and rapper Ceschi, and while Mike usually takes more of a songwriting/instrumentation/production role, he and his bandmates all share vocal duties on their new single, “Right Wrong Man.” Read more about it here.
