Hawk Tuah Girl has been cast in Glen Powell’s ‘Chad Powers’ TV series

Haliey Welch, known in popular culture as Hawk Tuah Girl, has been cast in the new series Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell.

According to TMZ, Welch will appear as herself in a cameo during a club scene, where Glen Powell’s title character celebrates being drafted into the XFL football league. It will be the social media star’s first acting role, with her only previous non-talk show credit being an appearance on reality show Summer House.

The official synopsis for the series reads: “When bad behaviour nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s (Powell) college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers”.

The show will air on the Hulu streaming service in the US, with a release date yet to be announced. The show is based on a character created by former NFL champion Eli Manning, for his 2021 show Eli’s Places. He would go undercover as ‘Chad Powers’ and attend college football tryouts.

Welch went viral last year for being interviewed in the street while on a night out, and giving a graphic description of a sexual act that culminating in the phrase “Hawk Tuah” (an onomatopoeia for spitting) being born. She has been the subject of many memes and been on stage with country star Zach Bryan.

Off the back of that notoriety, she has launched her own merchandise, crypto currency, created her own podcast, Talk Tuah, with guests including Jojo Siwa. Last month, she announced she would be making a documentary, DocTuah, about her unexpected rise to fame.

Having starred in films such as Twisters, Top Gun Maverick, and Anyone But You, Powell is one of Hollywood’s fastest rising stars, having been endorsed by none other than Tom Cruise. Recently, the actor called into his own lookalike contest to promise film cameo to winner’s family.
