Enter Nuxx’s world of “Electronic Bitch Music” with new single “Bad”

Nuxx is the moniker of NYC-based EBM musician Madeline Seely, but for Madeline, that stands for “Electronic Bitch Music.” On new singles “Bad” and Bird Brain,” which were both co-written and co-produced with Uniform‘s Ben Greenberg, the reason for her punny play on the industrial subgenre comes through loud and clear. The songs fall somewhere between classic industrial and sassy rave-pop, and if you like anything from Nitzer Ebb to Brat you should check this out.

Both songs will appear on her Bird Brain EP, due May 2 via Synthicide (pre-order), and “Bad” is out today, along with a video directed by Devan Davies and Chris Campion. About the song, Nuxx tells us, “I listen to music for energy. I wanted to make something that gives the listener that little extra push they may need to go for what they want in life. After all, sometimes it’s good to be bad.”

Nuxx plays a hometown show on March 21 at TV Eye with Confines, Kill Alters (solo), Murderpact, and Milkman’s Molotov; and she’ll also return to TV Eye on May 2 for an EP release show. She has more dates coming up after that. All are listed below, along with the new video.
