Mix: Sunrise Serenade w/ Jini Piju & ELIZEN THE EMPEROR

Weil Musik bei mir immer auch eine Sache der aktuellen Stimmung ist, flagge ich mir manche Sachen und lasse sie ein paar Tage liegen, um sie dann zu hören, wenn ich die Ruhe dazu habe. So wie bei diesem akustischen Sahnetörtchen, das Jini Piju gemeinsam mit Elizen the Emperor zubereitet hat, zu dem ich heute recht früh aufgestanden bin und die Morgensonne im Garten genossen habe – ganz in Ruhe. Weil es meine Stimmung hergab.

Einsortiert unter „Ambient“, aber irgendwie auch cineastisch. Für den ganz eigenen Film im Kopf. Toll. Ganz vieles davon ungehört und dann überraschend berührt. Ganz wie ich es mag. Und deshalb läuft diese Perle für die Ohren hier jetzt auch gleich noch einmal. Und nochmal. Habt das Wochenende zuckersüß. Ich geh mal wieder demonstrieren. Nützt ja alles nix.

Since her mixtapes ‚Heavy Heart Affairs‘ touched me very deeply, there was no way around inviting @elizentheemperor for a cozy Monday morning at cashmere to co-create a special episode that will make you feel lighter even when your heart is heavy. While @elizentheemperor mostly developed the soundscapes on this one, I created poetry that matches some of the tracks hidden within the tape. Take some deep breaths with us, explore your deep space garden, a poem dedicated to the U-Bahn station Birkenstraße in Moabit & what it means to be a lover.

The sunrise serenades I am hosting are driven by the idea of curating mixtapes that express a deep gratitude for musical compositions that hit a soft spot & open up the possibility of being intimate with oneself through writing. This show experiments with sonic & poetic revelations. Inspired & guided by the tracklist, it will tell a different story each time. Explore the attempt to preserve a moment, your dream from last night, a feeling or the color in the sky at dawn through ambient soundscapes & their occasional interconnection with poetry or prose.
