Beck played Bowery Ballroom (video, setlist)

After Paul McCartney took over the Manhattan venue for three surprise shows last week, Beck played his own Bowery Ballroom show on Monday night (2/17). His had been announced in advance, but also sold out extremely quickly. It was his first show of the year, and billed as a solo acoustic set, but he was joined at points by guitarist Smokey Hormel.

Beck’s Monday night setlist, which you can see below, had songs from throughout his discography, including six from 2002’s Sea Change, and a couple of covers: Daniel Johnston’s “True Love Will Find You in the End,” and Blind Willie Johnson’s “God Moves on the Water,” both of which he’s covered before. Beck will next head to Tempe, AZ for Innings Festival, and then he returns to NYC for the Love Rocks NYC benefit, where he’ll perform alongside Cher, Trey Anastasio, Mavis Staples, Jesse Malin, and more. He also has a couple of Royal Albert Hall shows in April; see all of his upcoming dates below.
