27 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

CLIPPING. – “WLECOME HOME WARRIOR” (ft. AESOP ROCK)

Experimental hip hop group clipping.’s upcoming album Dead Channel Sky includes a collab with indie-rap veteran Aesop Rock, and that song is here now.

CIRCUIT DES YEUX – “CANOPY OF EDEN”

Circuit des Yeux has given us another preview of her new album Halo on the Inside, menacing synth-pop track “Canopy of Eden.” “Somehow, on a day in the not too distant past, I ended up on a speedboat jutting toward a place called Canopy of Eden located off the coast of Puerto Vallarta,” Haley Fohr says. “The sun was hot, the boat was crammed with passengers, and there was a wild tritoned sawtooth sound coming from its engine. The boat dropped me off in a tourist trap. It was a shadeless beachfront with overpriced bottles of water and pre-programmed music blaring through a broken radio. It was my personal hell on earth. Trapped by the idea of predestination, I re-imagined my scenario in which everyone onboard the speedboat used their voice and internal rhythm to reroute our oceanic course. In this alternate universe, we were able to arrive at our own chosen destination and overcome the god-awful radio.”

BNNY – “LOVE TRAP”

Bnny follows her second album, last year’s One Million Love Songs, with “Love Trap,” which she says is “an ode to toxic relationships.”

New York avant-death metallers Imperial Triumphant share another taste of Goldstar. This is their second consecutive single with Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake, and this one also features the legendary original Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo.

ANI DIFRANCO – “THE MESSAGE” FT. STONE GOSSARD

Having collaborated before on “Disorders” in 2022, Ani DiFranco and Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard teamed up again for another new track, “The Message.” “So fun and amazing to collaborate again with Ani, Josh, Skerik, Mike, and Stanton….what a groove and mood,” Gossard says. “Ani’s vocals are transcendent.” Ani adds, “the mood started with stone’s demo and evolved from there. Super fun to team up with some badasses and pull a song out of the air.”

FENNESZ – “THE LAST DAYS OF MAY”

“The piece was recorded in the last days of May 2024,” Christian Fennesz says of this 23 minute ethereal excursion. “I discarded my original concepts for this piece right after starting the work. This was partly due to the fact that I happened to listen to a piece by Roland S. Howard that day, who I consider one of the greatest guitarists. So, I started again with a blank canvas. I focused on the essential components and instruments that had defined my work so far: guitars, string instruments in general and samples thereof, as well as a few synthesisers with a particular focus on the now largely forgotten synthesis principle of physical modelling. Microtonality and the decay behaviour of strings were important to me. The piece, conceived as a sound installation, is meant to blend into everyday soundscapes and occasionally stand out. However, it can also be listened to at full volume on headphones.
