Bon Iver teams with (How To With) John Wilson for “Everything Is Peaceful Love” video (watch)

Having announced SABLE, fABLE, his first full-length album in 6 years, earlier this week, Bon Iver has now shared a new single, “Everything is Peaceful Love.” After the three bare-bones, acoustic guitar-centric SABLE tracks that begin the album, it adds some electronic embellishment back while losing none of the intimacy. John Wilson of HBO’s How To With John Wilson directed the accompanying video, and he brings that same random moments of magic caught on camera feel to this (minus his distinctive narration though). You can watch below.

“I knew what kind of record I wanted to make the day we made ‘Everything Is Peaceful Love,’” Justin Vernon says. “I always knew that would be the feeling I wanted to share first. I wanted the video to just be people smiling uncontainably. Luckily, Eric Timothy Carlson suggested getting in touch with John Wilson from How To with John Wilson. Simply the most poignant and hilarious program in all of Television. We were extremely fortunate that John liked the idea. He went out, shot a bunch of fun stuff, and edited it all to the song. It gives me what I want for this album, all in one video. The idea that happiness and joy are the highest form and the true buoyancy of survival, and even taking yourself less seriously could heal the world.”

SABLE, fABLE is out on April 11 via Jagjaguwar, and features contributions from Danielle Haim, Dijon, and Flock of Dimes. You can pre-order it now on black & salmon vinyl and cassette.
