Wet Leg announce new album, share “catch these fists” video

After a week’s worth of teasing, Wet Leg are officially back and have announced the follow-up to their 2022 self-titled debut. This one is titled moisturizer and it will be out July 11 via Domino. The recorded it nearly a year ago, working again with producer Dan Carey, and where their debut was written almost entirely by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, this one features songwriting contributions from the whole band.

“We were just kind of having fun and exploring,” says Hester and Rhian adds, “We focussed on: Is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together.” Teasdale also notes that moisturizer is loaded with love songs. “I thought I was straight all of my life until I met my current partner – these love songs are about them,” Teasdale says. “I just found it so much more interesting and empowering to be writing love songs where I’m not lusting over a man – it feels a little bit different.”

The first single is the saucy, very Wet Leg “catch these fists” and comes an equally cheeky video directed by the band and featuring some of the same locations as their “Chaise Longue” and “Wet Dream” videos. The prairie dresses, however, are a thing of the past.

Wet Leg played “catch these fists” and a bunch more of moisturizer on Monday at Brooklyn’s Market Hotel. The band will also play it on Fallon on Wednesday and play LA this weekend. The only other US show at the moment is Atlanta’s Shaky Knees festival in September but all dates are listed below.
