Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for its “Devil May Cry” anime series based on the hit Capcom video game series created by Hideki Kamiya. It is slated to premiere on the streamer on April 3rd.
“Castlevania” anime producer Adi Shankar serves as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer of the animated series which he and his development partner Alex Larsen have been working on since it was first announced in 2018.
Shankar is teaming with Studio Mir (“The Legend of Korra,” “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf”) on the project in which sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms.
In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck,” reads the official synopsis.
Shankar previously said in an official statement: “Our goal wasn’t just to pump out another animated show. My goal is to make one of the best shows on the Netflix platform — period.”
The voice cast includes Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante, Scout Taylor-Compton as Lady, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Kevin Conroy as VP Baines, and Chris Coppola as Enzo,
