The 2025 Oscar Winners (Updating Live)

This year’s Academy Awards are now underway hosted by Conan O’Brien and while some awards seem a lock, there’s genuine competition for many other categories, including the top prize of Best Picture.

“Emilia Perez” leads the nominee pack with thirteen, followed by “The Brutalist” and “Wicked” with ten nominations each, then “Conclave” and “A Complete Unknown” with eight, “Anora” with six, and “Dune: Part Two” and “The Substance” snagged five each.

This year’s Oscar campaign has been one marked by infighting, controversy and even confusion as many smaller films and movies that weren’t widely critically loved made the nominee list while the two mainstream films in the running – “Dune: Part Two” and “Wicked” – aren’t considered major contenders beyond tech and production categories.
