Tabacco Terrae tiles by Casalgrande Padana

Dezeen Showroom: Italian tile maker Casalgrande Padana combined the organic charm of terracotta and the practicality of porcelain in the Terrae collection, which includes the smoky shade Tabacco.

The Tabacco tiles are one of six shades in the Terrae collection, all of which have earthy hues that help interior designers to create spaces that feel connected to nature.

Casalgrande Padana describes Tabacco as "an earthy and sophisticated tone, evoking the depth and warmth of natural hues, ideal for elegant and refined spaces".

The Terrae tile collection includes versions for both indoors and outdoors, allowing for the creation of seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces, and the tiles can be used on both walls and floors.

For indoors, there is a new natural matt surface that has a pleasant tactile feel underfoot, while an anti-slip finish can be applied for outdoor or high traffic environments.

For creative layouts, the Terrae tile collection includes a number of multicoloured geometrically patterned designs. There is also a mosaic option and a canneté tile with fine ribbed detailing.
